About Me (Spoiler: I did not go to the olympics)
If you asked me 20 years ago where I’d be when I hit my 30s, this would not be it. I was gonna go to the Olympics as a gymnast and then attend the University of Florida (on scholarship of course) I was going to get my degree in something important. Depending on when you asked me I might have told you I was going to be a veterinarian, or pediatric oncologist, or engineer. Then I was going to work for about ten years before I started popping out babies and baking all day long.
Then I fell in love at 16, got knocked up at 17, bought a house at 19, and married my baby daddy at 20. So plans changed. I went to college but crammed 4 years into 3 and graduated the same week as my 21st birthday. I attended the Univeristy of South Alabama (go Jags) and got my important degree in Journalism. They were sold out of pediatric oncologist spots for single teenage moms when I got there, what are ya gonna do?
So now I’ve been married to my BD Since 2003. (BD stands for Baby Daddy, what did you think it stood for?). I have worked full time in advertising for the last 8 years. My husband was a stay at home dad until 2 years ago. He totally stole my gig. When I applied for the position all I brought was a uterus and hormones. He apparently brought logic and reason. Since when does logic trump hormones? A few years ago we finally achieved our goal of owning a digital marketing company and now we work together at Southern View Media, E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. It’s greaaaat. Really most days I love working with my best friend, but some days, well, I’ll leave that for an actual blog.
Life has had some pretty awesome moments and just as many de-poudyish moments to boot. We tend to get the short end of the stick ALOT. But we always make it through. I can’t say we always make it through gracefully and shamelessly but we come through the other side kicking and screaming none the less.
If you’re looking for a blog about knitting, discipline, cooking, good books to read, latest fashion tips, or how to do that vinyl sticker crap on kids stuff then keep on scrolling. If you’re looking to chuckle at someone else’s misfortune and mistakes than you’ve hit the jackpot! If you stick around I’ll pour you a glass of wine and tell you some stories. If I’m out of wine I always have sour grapes to make some myself.
When Life Hands You Grapes…….Write a Blog.
